Multi-Channel HD Recording

The Ki Pro Ultra Plus can simultaneously record 1, 2, 3, or 4 channels of pristine Apple ProRes HD, up to 1080p 50/60. With the ability to connect up to four cameras to a single Ki Pro Ultra Plus, it saves power, space, time, and labor on set, in the studio, or in OB vans, simplifying multi-camera production workflows.

In multi-channel mode, the Ki Pro Ultra Plus even supports independent profile settings for each channel. You can select high-resolution Apple ProRes HQ for recording high-quality final deliverables, and use a second input channel to record Apple ProRes (Proxy) for convenient and efficient editing.

Start with a single input channel and add the remaining channels as needed, recording HD Apple ProRes files with consistent characteristics such as image size and frame rate, all to the same AJA Pak storage drive*. The Ki Pro Ultra Plus even supports multi-channel continuous recording across a second Pak storage drive.

*Pak Media 1000 storage drives with the -R0 Designation module, and all Pak Media storage drives with the -R1 Designation, support multi-channel recording.

Edit-Ready and Independent

Multi-channel recording with the Ki Pro Ultra Plus provides separate, independent recordings for each input, each with precise timecode, that can be instantly imported directly into a multi-track editing sequence. No additional transcoding or software is required; simply drag and drop the files from the Pak Media storage drive directly into your editing software. The clip naming format is customizable to your needs, and each multi-channel file is automatically appended with .1, .2, .3, or .4, making asset management in post-production extremely easy.

Continuous Recording and Rollover, Even in Multi-Channel Mode

Losing one or even a few signals during a multi-camera shoot can cause severe synchronization issues in the edit, which can be time-consuming to resolve. The Ki Pro Ultra Plus is designed to automatically record a "Loss Of Signal" Color Bar screen whenever a loss of signal is detected on any input, continuing until the signal is restored or the shoot concludes.

This ensures that all multi-channel clips have the same timecode duration and are perfectly aligned in any Non-Linear Editing (NLE) software. The editor simply needs to cut out the segments where the signal was lost, eliminating the complicated process of inserting frames or adjusting audio to compensate. This feature works for every input signal on the Ki Pro Ultra Plus and even supports the Rollover mode, meaning that even if lost signals are distributed across different storage drives, there will be no trouble during editing, as the timecode for every recorded file will be equal.

Built for the real world.
