Stunning Broadcast Images, Digital Film Presentation

The large 6K sensor, combined with the Blackmagic Generation 5 Color Science, brings imaging technology typically found only in digital film cameras, giving your broadcasts a digital film look! This 6K sensor boasts a 6144 x 3456 resolution, which is more than capable for any broadcast or digital film work. When paired with a B4 lens, the camera operates in a 4K cropped sensor mode for Ultra HD broadcasting. If you switch to the PL or EF lens mount, you can utilize the full 6K resolution sensor for digital film production! With 13 stops of dynamic range, the footage can capture deeper blacks and brighter highlights, making it ideal material for color grading. This brings digital film quality into the broadcast industry, fundamentally transforming traditional image quality!

Exceptional Low Light Performance

The new URSA Broadcast offers astonishing low light performance, allowing you to shoot successfully with just ambient light, even delivering outstanding results under moonlight! In professional cameras, ISO is the measure of the image sensor's sensitivity to light. The Blackmagic URSA Broadcast G2 features a gain range from -12dB (100 ISO) up to +36dB (25600 ISO). This optimized design significantly reduces grain and noise in the image while maintaining the sensor's full dynamic range. The first native ISO setting is 400, which is the ideal value for shooting under studio lighting. The second high base ISO setting is 3200, which is better suited for shooting in dimly lit environments. You can set the gain using the switches on the camera, the LCD menus, or remotely via the SDI remote camera control protocol.

Compatibility with All B4 Broadcast Lenses

The URSA Broadcast G2 is equipped with a B4 broadcast lens mount, whose internal optics are designed to match the camera's sensor. The B4 mount allows the use of popular current Ultra HD lenses or more cost-effective HD lenses. Older HD lenses often have a resolution far exceeding HD, which meets the requirements for low-cost, high-quality production! B4 lenses are parfocal lenses, meaning the image remains in focus as you change the focal length, eliminating the need for constant refocusing during a shoot, thus significantly improving your efficiency! You gain comprehensive electronic lens control, allowing you to adjust parameters like focus, iris, and zoom using the camera buttons or remotely. If you wish to use other lenses, you simply replace the mount with PL, EF, or other specifications!
